The new Women’s Jail in San Luis Obispo will be completed in 3 phases, with the entire project set to be completed in October 2016.

The new 46,000 SF jail will include a 38,000 SF housing unit with 198 beds. Space will also be provided for counseling and other rehabilitative-type programs such as parenting classes, life skills, computer skills, GED preparation and treatment programs.

Additionally, 8,000 SF will be used as medical facilities serving the women as well as the men who are housed at the nearby men’s jail. The project also includes a new complex-wide electronic security system upgrade.
