DID YOU KNOW: SCM has exclusive Members Only Hours on Sundays from 11:00 am – Noon AND Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Come to the Museum to meet other members, schedule play dates, and make new friends!

Our next $4 Friday is coming up on July 25th, featuring music from the Robo Party Band, classic cars from the California Auto Museum, food trucks, face painting, craft popcorn, and of course, open museum play! Admission drops to $4 at 4pm, and we’re open ’til 8, so don’t forget to save the date! We’ll see you there!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING MUSEUM & MEMBER HOURS!
THIS WEEK ONLY – Thursday’s Member Only Hours have been moved to Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00pm, and will return to it’s normal schedule the following week!
Also, in honor and celebration of Independence Day, SCM will be closed all day on Friday, July 4th, and will return to normal business hours on Saturday, July 5th!

JULY IS MEMBER APPRECIATION MONTH AT SCM!
All throughout July, SCM is celebrating all of our magnificent members! We couldn’t put on all the great programs, events, and classes without your generous support! As a way to say “thank you”, we’ll be providing treats during member hours like coffee and donuts on Sunday mornings, and popsicles on Thursday nights. In addition, members are welcome to bring a guest along with them on Tuesdays at no additional charge, all month long! There’s no better time than now to be an SCM Member!!

VOLUNTEER WITH TEAM LEO AT THE CALIFORNIA CAPITAL AIRSHOW!
On September 6th and 7th, SCM will be hosting the Kids Zone at the California Capital Airshow, and we need your help! Those who’ve attended in previous years know that this is a large and fantastic event featuring some of the world’s greatest aviation advances throughout the past century as well as daring demonstrations from incredibly skilled pilots! If you or your child are interested in the world of aviation, this is your chance to catch a great show while giving back to the community!
If you’d like to volunteer, the Airshow requires that you fill out their application using this link. Remember to select the “Kids Zone” as your desired volunteer area, or you may be assigned elsewhere! If you’re not a current SCM volunteer, but would like more details, please contact our volunteer coordinator at email@example.com!
LEO’S BIRTHDAY BASH COMING AUGUST 2ND!
Get ready for our biggest party of the year, Leo’s Birthday Bash! This event, comprised of an online auction and family carnival will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, and will celebrate our third anniversary and nearly a quarter of a million visitors to the museum! You can purchase tickets for this excellent event here!
Interested in helping us out? Consider donating an item we can auction, like a tangible item, gift certificates, or service! When you make a donation to support Leo’s Birthday Bash, you and/or your business will be recognized in our annual report, auction website, event website, and newsletter, which has nearly 1000 views per week! SET SAIL FOR ADVENTURE AT THE BUCCANEER BALL!
Avast, me salty sea dogs! On September 19th, “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”, come discover all new treasures and make lasting memories at SCM’s first ever Buccaneer Ball! This Mother-Son dance will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and features tasty treats, dance music, open museum play, and a mountain’s worth of pirate booty!

CULTURAL CONNECTIONS: USA!
This month Sacramento Children’s Museum is exploring the United States of America! Classes take place every Thursday at 10:30 am! There’s no need to register, and classes are included with the cost of general admission!
July 3rd: Celebrate the Fourth of July! Learn all about Independence Day and the symbolism of the U.S. flag while making your very own flag art!
July 10th: Experience the California Gold Rush! Hear the history of the Gold Rush era and then pan for gold using authentic gold panning techniques!
July 17th: Explore American geography! Take a “road trip” with us around the U.S. and learn about geographic features and landmarks throughout the country!
July 24th: Take a closer look at U.S. Coins! Learn about the images featured on U.S. coins and then make coin rubbings!
July 31st: Learn about the Pilgrims and Native Americans! Discover what life was like in the 1600s — we will play Pilgrim games and learn about things Native Americans taught the Pilgrims to help them survive their new land!
