The project consisted of a new 17,000 SF adult education school building constructed to incorporate 90 year old unreinforced masonry (URM) walls. URM walls are secured to the building structural steel frame. Exterior finishes are metal studs, lath and plaster and brick veneer. Interior finishes are typical interior school finishes. Also incorporated were new mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, and cabling throughout the entire building to bring it up to current technological standards. This historic building was brought up to ADA, seismic and DSA codes.
