Design Build for Specialized Facility

Inside the Justice Center’s New Coroner’s Facility

Incorporating design elements for both compassion and privacy, the new Coroner’s Facility delivers the functionality needed to meet the needs of the Justice Center community and boldly displays its core mission to serve.

From the onset, we utilized confidential client meetings to foster an environment of trust and collaboration and forge a strong working relationship. The sensitive nature of the facility, combined with the unique requirements of specialized laboratories, family meeting spaces, and private but welcoming staff support areas, provided a challenge we were ready to over-deliver on.

The project included:
• New 20,000 SF, single-story coroner’s building
• Welcoming reception and lobby with design elements for compassion and privacy
• Designed for staff including a large conference room and staff support spaces
• New parking structure include solar-covered parking and rooftop solar
• Built to accommodate future expansions
• Tilt-up construction, structural steel
• New, dedicated laboratory and morgue facilities
• LEED Silver Design
